Development Studies, Global Studies and Social Studies of Gender

What’s coming up

On Arrival Day, International Mentors and University staff will welcome you and help you settle into your new life in Lund and Sweden.

August 18th, 2 pm: Meet your Coordinator Day, Student Lounge, Gamla Kirurgen

We invite you to come meet your programme coordinators and future classmates for an informal and fun meet and greet. This event is not mandatory, but if you're in the area, stop by for some coffee and snacks!

The mandatory programme introduction will be held all day on August 25th for all admitted students to the Master’s programmes in Development Studies, Global Studies and Social Studies of Gender. Please plan on this introduction lasting until 3 pm. A light lunch will be served.

August 28th: Course Start (mandatory). Please check your course on LiveatLund, or in the course information box (About the Course) on the pages below.

September 4: Document Drop-off for Conditionally Admitted Students

Conditionally admitted students must submit their degree documents for verification by the Lund University Admissions Department before they can be registered to the programme. Once your documents have been verified they will be returned to you. Graduate School will be collecting degree documents from conditionally admitted students at the Graduate School Student Reception Desk at the following times:

  • Social Studies of Gender: 9-10 a.m.
  • Development Studies: 12 p.m. noon-1 p.m.
  • Global Studies: 11-12 p.m. noon

As we are working with many students and sensitive documents, we ask that you arrive at the prescribed time for your specific programme.

If you have already uploaded or mailed your complete degree certificate to (international degree students) or sent Graduate School your Swedish personal number (Swedish degree students) over the summer, you do not need to attend this meeting.

Arriving late?

The Programme Introduction Day and the course introduction meeting are mandatory programme events. Students are expected to be in Lund and present at the Programme Introduction Day. If you cannot arrive in Lund on time and have not notified Graduate School, you may risk losing your place in the programme. Contact Milan Burke at milan.burke [at] as soon as possible if you will be arriving late.
